When to Pray

When do you want to pray?

When things are going well?

When you are feel good?

Or maybe it's mostly when things go wrong, and you are reaching out as a last resort?

Do you find yourself only praying when you're alone?

Or do you only pray when you are with others that are praying?

So,

When should you pray?

ALWAYS!

Even when we don’t want to or don't feel like it... Especially when you don't want to or don't feel like it!

  • Pray when you wake up and before you go to bed.

  • Pray when you are eating (before, after, or even during)

  • Pray with others and when you're alone.

  • Pray when you're happy and when you're hating life.

  • Pray when nothing is going on and when life feels chaotic.

When we pray

It is just like sitting with a friend, being thankful for all God has and continues to do for us. It is also sharing what is on our hearts, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Building a good relationship with anyone includes having deep, authentic communication. God shares His heart with us through His written Word, The Bible. We learn who God is when we read how Jesus lived His life.

"Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does His work through me."
-John 14:10 NLT

God already knows your heart but still wants to hear from you.

As you and a friend share your life on social media, you learn different things about each other. Does this mean that you will stop talking?

Would you be good friends and have an intimate connection with each other if you stopped talking?

There is a difference between having knowledge about a person and having a conversation with a person.

When we have an authentic conversation with someone we connect on a deeper, more intimate level.

This is what God wants.

He wants us to not only have the knowledge, but He wants us actually to have a connection with Him. Resulting in an authentic love for Him and receiving the UNFAILING love He has for us.
